Jesús

To read

I enjoy how he moves through the world
quiet, deliberate,
never careless with living things
or with people.

I like the way his calm settles me,
how I don’t feel rushed around him,
how silence feels shared
instead of empty.

His brown eyes stay steady when he listens,
his deep voice makes simple words feel solid,
and when he speaks
I know he means it.

I enjoy his kindness to animals,
his respect for the environment,
the way his values show up in small actions
not speeches.

With him, I don’t feel handled or performed for —
just met,
just there together,
without pressure to be anything extra.

He isn’t a role to me.
He is a feeling of ease
I want to keep walking toward.
